2007 adieu!

Comments

Hello from Mexico! I’m vacationing at a resort south of Playa Del Carmen for a week with the family. Yes, vacations are the time to cut yourself off from everything, but I couldn’t help but bring my laptop, blackberry and Nokia N95 to video blog.

However, in this instance the hotel has decided that I should be cut off somewhat from my technological cord. There is no freakin’ wireless internet here and the only thing I can use are these PCs. I can’t even upload any of my fun videos I’ve shot. Boohoo!!! How does a new hotel not set up wireless internet?! So look forward to lots of fun youtube videos from my trip in the new year.

Anyway, this is my last blog of 2007. As I sit staring at this ugly PC, I’m trying to think of some words of wisdom to lift all of us off into 2008. But, the sun is calling my name and all I have this second is a quote my boyfriend just gave me from Star Trek: “Live long and prosper.”

Adios 2007! Hola 2008!

Happy holidays everyone!

I would say that more than half of L.A. are imports, so during the holidays this city is empty and it rocks! No traffic, which makes life soooo much better.

Anyway, today has been fun so far. Got picked up at 5:45AM to on MSNBC to chat about holiday movies. Will be back each hour until 10:30, so if you’re up definitely watch. Even with the early start, I’m just chipper. Life is good folks!

I’ll also be on Fox News Channel at 1:48pm PT/ 4:48pm ET to chat about Brit’s mom’s parenting book that’s on hold. My take? Publish it and change the title so people don’t actually think this is a self help book, more like a crazy Hollywood parenting chronicles book.

THE WEEK OF THE BABY

Comments

In light of all the baby news this week, I leave you with some insight from Keanu Reeves in Parenthood:

“…you need a license to buy a dog, to drive a car - hell, you even need a license to catch a fish. But they’ll let any butt-reaming asshole be a [parent].”

Who knew Keanu was so smart.

UNDERAGE HOLLYWOOD PREGNANCIES

Comments

The Spears family is about to get bigger. Brit’s 16-year old sister, Jamie-Lynn Spears has confirmed to Ok! Magazine that she is indeed pregnant and is going to have the baby! The sad thing is that Jamie just might be more responsible than her sis.

She’s not the first underage star to become a momma. 17-year old Keisha Castle Hughes, known for her role in Whale Rider, recently gave birth to a baby girl. Plus, one of the biggest films of the year, Juno, has Ellen Page playing a high school senior who gets pregnant and gives the baby up for adoption. Is this the beginning of a Hollywood trend? Don’t do it Hannah Montana!

HOLIDAY WORK GIFTS!

Comments

What do you do when you want to get your coworkers/bosses holiday gifts but you work for what feels like dozens of people?

I opted for some port or champagne for the bosses.

For staffers, I decided to send Crumbs Bakeshop cupcakes. The bakery is in LA and NYC (perfect for the bi-coastal worker). They have these mini cupcakes- a perfect two bite cupcake so no one needs to start cutting and sharing things in the office. You get 12 minis for 16 dollars - it’s a perfect gift for an office staff!

If you’re not into mass gift giving then how about an office buddha or a box of godiva chocolates?

New York Magazine also has a great guide for all your holiday gifting needs!

Now, it’s time for me to continue spending all my month’s money on gifts! woohoo!
