So I'm updating my site and there are soooo many things I never posted about. Earlier this year, I announced a series with VH1 called "Huge On The Tube" or #HOTT. The idea was for it to be like a "Behind The Music" but around the big viral videos that have made YouTube, the stars and the community around it.
I love meeting entrepreneurs- those with vision and the balls to see it through- through the good times and the bad (and let me tell you it's bumpy road). But beyond the bumps and grinds, I continue to feel grateful and empowered. Every day I learn... A LOT! Recently, I had the opportunity to be on Quest co-founder Tom Bilyeu's "Inside Quest" series whose motto is something I definitely resonate with- "Find your Passion. Evolve your Mindset."
I talk about everything from life/work lessons I've learned to my daily morning affirmation ritual. Enjoy and tweet me @ShiraLazar to let me know what you think:
Excited to be back at Playlist Live! Every year What's Trending has set up shooting interviews with the biggest stars at the convention. This year, we'll be right next to the main stage and live streaming on Playlist Live and the What's Trending YouTube channel.
It was awesome being part of the first Playlist Live on the East Coast. I emceed opening night at the Best Buy Theater with some fun YouTube personalities and performers SDK, Jenna Marbles, Ricky Dillon, Trevor Moran, Andrea Russett and more!
Billboard picked up the story, with an interesting take on the community and space overall. There has always been criticism from digital stars of how traditional media often times cover this world - either focusing on the money making opportunities and/or having a lack of understanding around the fandom and popularity of these stars. At least the post does end on a high note, highlighting the empowerment of this new landscape to build special communities and a next generation of talent.
What's Trending also shot some content backstage with some of stars making waves with new albums and even a feature film.
Closing night of the entire Playlist Live Tri-State, we also hosted an American Music Awards viewing party with Dick Clark Productions and Tubefilter complete with Justin Bieber and Beyonce life size cutouts. This day in age, there's always a way to be part of the party even when you're on the other side of the country!
