Fun Facts

  • I’m from Montreal, Quebec in Canada- I speak English and French. I could’ve been completely fluent in Spanish if I had spent that summer at an international school in Malaga Spain actually studying and not partying… oopsies!
  • I’m a taurus
  • I love people in general, food/eating/dining, passionate people, oddballs and talking (surprise, surprise)
  • Having worked with lots of dirty guys radio and having a crazy stepbrother (www.americanapparel.net) you can say that I have a weird male sensibility and sometimes find myself making jokes like I’m one of the guys…
  • My friends make fun of me because I’m the queen of internet research (no, not that kind of research) ie. I’m actually a big geek.
  • Things I can’t live without: interesting people and experiences (pretty deep- I know!), lip gloss (I’m sorry but it’s true!), my work, mobility, love, giggling, my curly hair, internet, music, the radio (at least there’s one reason to be stuck in traffic- sometimes I’ll literally sit in my car just to finish listening to a radio show), oh yes… and I write the word haha a lot!
  • Words people use to describe me?
    • Dork
    • Geek
    • Ham (kosher of course)
    • Superstar Lazar
    • Rockstar (I hear that one a lot. I don’t know why because I’m not a rockstar, I don’t sing in public and I don’t wear crazy clothes)
    • Cute (should I like this word- I’m not sure! Hmm…)
    • Ambitious
    • Young but old (what does that really mean?)
    • Fun
    • Resilient
    • Easygoing
    • Spunky
    • Hard working
    • A breath of fresh air
    • Ok… I’m sick of this brainstorming
  • In college I produced and hosted shows like Good Morning Emerson- Emerson College’s only live morning show and created The Ladies Room, a college spinoff of The View. The Ladies Room is now a staple show at Emerson College and is still being produced each semester by new Emersonians. How cute!
  • I am an entertainment reporter, which for some reason makes people think I’m not a Harvard graduate (which I’m not but that’s not the point!) Apart from taking time to chat with me to get a sense that I can be smart- here are some things that might give you a sense that at least I had enough brains to fool my teachers growing up:
    • I did AP Biology in High School and got a 4.0 on the Princeton exam
    • I was the editor of my yearbook (I can lay out the best damn photo spread you’ll ever see)
    • I received a Dean’s Scholarship at Emerson College without even applying.
    • I was a Dean’s scholar during my entire time at college
    • I graduated college in 2 years and still won the TV/Video senior award out of everyone in my graduating class. Holla!
  • I am always asked what my name means- so here it goes:
    • It means oh son of the moon of the sky… no just kidding! I don’t even know how I came up with that.
    • It actually is a Hebrew name and means song. My middle name is Lauren, which supposedly in Yiddish means love. So my mom says my name means love song, which sounds really romantic and nice. I’m not sure if it’s true but it’s a good story to tell someone as a conversation starter. Haha
