My friend and Docstoc Founder Jason Nazar wrote a really interesting blog looking at the tech scene in Los Angeles vs. Silicon Valley.

The growing number of tech companies, sites and startups launching here has caused the scene to grow quickly. I saw the beginnings of it over a year ago, when I started working as a host for Twiistup, a mixer connecting people from tech, media and entertainment. What started off as an event with 100 people, now draws in over 1000 attendees. I feel honored to have met some amazing people in this community who are brilliant at what they do- true innovators who are constantly brainstorming new ideas and challenging the impossible. In a city that some say is superficial, I feel lucky to be part of a movement that continues to inspire me to create, challenge myself and make a positive impact.
